Leisure and tourism in Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas

There are many areas in the south of Gran Canaria. But without a doubt, our favourite area is Playa del Inglés, in Maspalomas. Strolling around here is a constant invitation to try the restaurants, to embark on each of the adventures on offer or to buy something in the shops. Tourism in Playa del Inglés

Playa del Inglés is one of the most inclusive places on the island, where families with small children, couples, and singles all find their place. It could be the special climate all year round, between 18 and 22C, or the warmth of its white sand. It altogether forms a perfect symbiosis to enjoy this marvellous urbanised beach, which has all the possible comforts: lifeguards, sun loungers and parasols for rent, showers and changing rooms, etc. 

• BEACH AREA

It is the ideal place to enjoy as a family. A swim in its crystal-clear water, a stroll along the shores of the Atlantic, a sandcastle championship, an intense day of sunbathing and reading or a visit to the beach bar from time to time. All options are feasible and highly recommended for any given day in Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas.

• NUDIST AREA

Along its entire length, Playa del Inglés has a nudist area, specifically between beach bars 3 and 6. This is a delimited and signposted area, exclusively for those who prefer to sunbathe without a bathing costume. 

• LGTBI ZONE

Playa del Inglés is a tourist attraction for the LGTBI community. It may be linked to the feeling of freedom mentioned above, which, of course, also fits in with the nudism that is practised on the beach. In fact, beach bar 7, next to the nudist area, is the meeting point for the community, where they usually meet for a relaxed drink. Playa del Inglés is also home to the only LGTBI shopping center in the world: Yumbo Centre.

Sport in Playa del Inglés

Playa del Inglés is a mixture of all that is good, both in the seafront area and along its streets and promenades. Amongst the leisure options, sporting activities are the most popular with tourists.

The clubs and pubs in Playa del Inglés have a fun party atmosphere, where you can dance the night away. Pacha, Aqua Ocean and Ozono are some of the most famous clubs in the area.

EVENTS

In addition to the nightlife clubs, Playa del Inglés also offers ‘alternative’ leisure, associated with two major events that are held in the area throughout the year. These are the Maspalomas Carnival and Gay Pride, very important tourist attractions for the island.
